The KLASS Center is committed to providing the highest quality services available, and in order to do that, we do have to charge fees for our services. However, thanks to the generous gifts by the Korn family, we are able to charge significantly less for comparable services in the Knoxville metro area.
For example, the KLASS Center charges $950 for a general psychoeducational evaluation that typically costs $1,200 in the Knoxville area. As another example, an evaluation for an Autism Spectrum Disorder that might run upwards of $1,500, we charge only $1195. We are also a training site and doctoral trainees are often involved with each service; if you insist on a Licensed Psychologist to conduct an evaluation without doctoral trainee involvement, the fees doubled. For more information regarding the costs for specific services, please see the fee pages under each listed service.
In addition, again due to the Korn family’s generosity, we offer a sliding fee scale for families and individuals with limited income. Our sliding fee scale is formulated from federal guidelines that takes into account both income and the number of family members living in the household.
*Effective June 1st, 2022, we will be making a notable adjustment in our billing procedures. At the time of appointment scheduling, we will be collecting an initial non-refundable deposit that will be applied to your total balance. The initial deposit for an Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluation will be $150, while the initial deposit for all other evaluations will be $100. This is not an added evaluation charge; the initial deposit will be deducted from the total balance of the evaluation fees.
Payment is expected at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, money orders or credit cards (Visa and MasterCard). We also offer a payment plan for up to six (6) months if that fits your budget better. We do not currently accept third party payment (Insurance) since the majority of our services do not fall under the medically necessary requirement; we can however, provide you with an invoice that you may submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement, but we do require you to pay the fees for services at the time of service unless another prior arrangement has been agreed upon.
All of our fees for all of our services are set at lower rates and all may be eligible for the sliding scale if you meet the federal guidelines. [One exception is the fee for the Postsecondary Autism Support Services (PASS) Program – those program fees will be set by the University and are not subject to the sliding scale]
If you believe you might be eligible for a reduced fee for service due to limited income, please complete the following required information and someone will provide you the cost based on your unique situation:
