Work with parents to develop strategies to solve or improve behavioral challenges with their children. Common childhood behavioral concerns and areas that are addressed include: starting behaviors, stopping behaviors, compliance, developing and maintaining behavior plans at home, tantrums, sleep problems, among many others. Initially, plan for a minimum of four (4) sessions, but depending on specific challenges or severity, could extend for several more sessions. Sessions last approximately 50 minutes.
Work directly with the child to develop strategies to improve social skills, organizational skills, time management skills, and/or general self-management skills. These sessions would not be traditional counseling, but rather, focused on skill building. Usually, individual work will last six (6) – eight (8) sessions and can be extended as necessary. Sessions last approximately 50 minutes.
